  • T-Mobile to Tie DoubleTwist Sync to Android

T-Mobile will announce a partnership with media syncing app developer doubleTwist, according to TechCrunch. The app will be pre-installed on some of its Android phones, including the new myTouch 3G Fender Limited Edition handset. This is big news for the Android community since no Android phones come with syncing software akin to iTunes. As of now, users mount SDs card to their computers and drag and drop the files onto phones.

We’ve complained in just about every Android smartphone review that Android has no proprietary syncing solution. As much as people complain about the iPhone’s quirks and issues, syncing isn’t one of them. Apple’s iTunes software makes syncing music, movies, apps, and other media very easy. doubleTwist may not be as robust as iTunes, but it will likely work well enough for most users.

T-Mobile’s version of doubleTwist will be missing one feature available in the current version–Amazon MP3 store access, where you can download and preview new music. It’s possible T-Mobile will add that feature later. But if you’re savvy enough, you can just download the current version now and give it a spin.
