Rumor: Samsung Behold II to Recieve Android 1.6 Beginning June 28th
Posted on June 11th, 2010 No commentsThe word around the campfire today is that the Samsung Behold II handset from T-Mobile will be seeing an update on June 28th. Sadly, this will be the only bump the phone ever receives as it’s just not capable of 2.0 or higher. We never did learn how many Behold II units were sold over the last few months but I get the sense that it’s a disappointment all around. The cube design turned me off the second I learned it couldn’t be customized. I mean, how terrible is it that most phones are jumping to 2.1 this summer and the Behold II is taking baby steps? Is this a Sony Companion Box for Google TV?

Engadget had an article up last week about the white box pictured to the left. FCC documents call Sony unit an “Internet TV Box, similar to the wording for Sony’s Internet TV announced at Google I/O. Foxconn is the builder of the internet appliance with specs saying that the unit has 802.11a/b/g/n WiFi built into the unit. Pre-Alpha Firefox Fennec Build Gains Multi-touch

Good news! Fennec, Firefox’s mobile browser for Android, seems to be coming along quite nicely. You will be happy to learn that the new pre-alpha build of Fennec now has multi-touch! That’s right, you can now pinch to zoom as much as you want. I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait for this to hit the market. Firefox is my favorite browser, sorry Google Chrome!

Huawei Planning 7-Inch Tablet with 1GHz Processor

In an effort to gain a stronger foothold on the consumer and enterprise market, Chinese hardware marker Huawei is planning an Android tablet of their own. Running a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, it also features a 7-inch capacitive touchscreen display (800X480 or 1024X600) and 3G support and telephony functions.The rest of the device reads like this: Android 2.1 (Eclair), possibly Android 2.2 (Froyo), a speaker with a volume rocker, microSD card slot, 3.5 mm headphone jack, WiFi (b/g), Bluetooth, HDMI port for 720p HD quality video playback.

Intel Using Android 2.1 to Demo New Moorestown Chips

Android Phones Keep Getting Bigger, 5.5-Inch Sony Ericsson on the Way
